Patron's Message

Alumni communities have been playing an important role in shaping the destiny of their alma-maters. Advent of knowledge society and continuous prosperity of knowledge workers in some developed nations particularly in U.S.A. and U.K., have led to large funding provided by alumni to their alma-maters. Harvard, Kellogs, MIT, LBS, Oxford are good examples of great support given to these institutions by the alumni.

In our country, alumni of IITs, IIMs, BITS – Pilani, Allahabad University, Banaras Hindu University and some other Universities have taken initiatives to support their alma maters. Although our institute started its journey in 1988, but alumni activities have taken some shape from the year 2000 onwards. Initially it was limited to annual get-together which led to batch-wise meetings in 2003 and 2004. Now our alumni has good presence not only in NCC but in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Jaipur etc. Already chapters are active at NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chandigarh.

What do we expect from our alumni?  At current stage we do not look for any materialistic support. But members of our alumni community can act like a bridge between the industry and the institute. They can bring lot of values to the institute by imparting their knowledge to current students and also by facilitating industry-institute-interaction in many forms.

With the increasing power of ICT, social networking is now a world-wide phenomenon.  People of similar liking, hobbies and ideologies are now continuously linked to web-based communities.

Let us make BIMTECH ALUMNI, a world-wide community, having strong bondage with their alma-mater.
